Macbeth was hesitant at first, but once he killed Duncan, he was full of guilt. A Tragic Hero, as defined by Aristotle, is a man of noble reputation who is admired by society but has a tragic flaw, which leads to his downfall.

Both Macbeth and Oedipus undergo many conflicting decisions that shape their personalities. They told Macbeth his future but did not show him the path towards his future. This ambition made him commit heinous crimes and led him to trust the witches.

Oedipus and Macbeth are both men that have a lot of power but are not capable of keeping it. Oedipus, Lines Oedipus believed in prophecies and so he fled in an attempt to control his fate and also to prevent him from committing ghastly crimes.

The oracle advises Oedipus to seek vengeance upon the murderer of the former king, Laius, in order to put an end to the plague. However, the comparisons of the two do not stop there.
